Lyrics

Big Blue Sky

Prairie Heaven 1967
In the shimmering heat
We'd ride our bikes on down to Gee's
The Parliament Grocery Store
Where the candy was practically free
Then we'd ride out to the edge of town
To the edge of our world
Where the city met the wheat
On the other side of the street

Under a big blue sky

And then we'd ride down teenage trampled trails
To the heart of the wheat
Where we'd sit and eat our treats
Under the tall golden wheat

Under a big blue sky
You and I

About Rod Nattrass

Rod Nattrass is a singer/songwriter/producer from Vancouver, Canada. For over 25 years he has skillfully managed to elude fame and fortune in the music business. This is thanks to his innate ability to write and record songs that just don't fit into any music industry pigeon hole. Big Blue Sky may be his first big slip-up; what with its catchy guitar hook and earworm chorus. The song was inspired by a reconnection with a childhood friend from the Canadian prairies, and the flood of memories that meeting brought forth.
